- Why is it called seamless steel pipe
Seamless steel pipe is made of whole metal and has no joint on the surface. According to the production method, seamless pipe is divided into hot rolled pipe, cold rolled pipe, cold drawn pipe, extruded pipe, pipe jacking, etc. According to the cross-section shape, seamless steel pipe can be divided into round and special-shaped, and the special-shaped pipe has many complex shapes, such as square, oval, triangle, hexagon, melon seed, star and winged pipe. The maximum diameter is 650mm and the minimum diameter is 0.3mm. According to different uses, there are thick wall tube and thin wall tube.
- Application of seamless steel
Seamless steel pipe is mainly used for petroleum geological drilling pipe, cracking pipe for petrochemical industry, boiler pipe, bearing pipe and high-precision structural steel pipe for automobile, tractor and aviation. The seamless steel pipe for general use is rolled by ordinary carbon structural steel, low alloy structural steel or alloy structural steel, with the largest output, mainly used as the pipeline or structural parts for fluid transportation.
- Manufacturing process of seamless steel pipe
Generally, the production process of seamless steel pipe can be divided into cold drawing and hot rolling. The production process of cold-rolled seamless steel pipe is generally more complicated than that of hot rolling. The tube blank should be first rolled by three rollers, and then the sizing test should be carried out after extrusion. If the surface has no response crack, the round pipe will be cut by the cutter, and the billet with a growth of about one meter will be cut. Then enter into the annealing process, annealing to acid pickling with acid liquid, acid pickling should be paid attention to whether there is a large number of blisters on the surface, if there is a large number of bubbles, it means that the quality of steel pipe can not reach the corresponding standard. In appearance, the cold-rolled seamless steel pipe is shorter than the hot-rolled seamless steel pipe, and the wall thickness of the cold-rolled seamless steel pipe is generally smaller than that of the hot-rolled seamless steel pipe, but the surface looks brighter than the thick wall seamless steel pipe, the surface is not too rough, and the diameter is not too much burr.
- Quality inspection of seamless steel pipe
The delivery state of hot-rolled seamless steel pipe is generally hot-rolled state, which is delivered after heat treatment. After the quality inspection, the hot-rolled seamless steel pipe shall be selected by the staff strictly by hand. After the quality inspection, the surface shall be oiled, and then several cold drawing experiments shall be carried out. After the hot rolling treatment, the piercing test shall be carried out. If the perforation diameter is too large, it shall be straightened and corrected. After straightening, the conveyor is transferred to the flaw detector for flaw detection test. Finally, it is labeled, and the specifications are arranged and placed in the warehouse.
